Barnabas Trading is established in the U.S. and China with the goal of linking the world to North Korea (NK) through commerce.  Our leadership team convenes in Chicago, IL, to discuss goals and values in managing businesses in North Korea.

We partner with a shoe manufacturing company called Sun Yang LLC (SY) and assist in setting up SY's operations inside NK.

Barnabas' first product, the Barnaboo winter boot for children, is manufactured in Rason, NK.

Barnabas jointly sponsors the Give-A-Pair shoe drive with the SY factory, donating a pair of winter boots to a North Korean child for every $5 collected.  Thanks to the generosity of our customers, over 10,000 shoes are donated to North Korean children in need.

Barnaboo boots are available for purchase in Canada for the first time!  Barnaboo makes its premiere at the Toronto Shoe Show.

UNICEF orders over 10,000 Barnaboo boots for deserving children in Mongolia and China.
